WidgetWeb project is a framework for creating community-shared Web sites similar to wikis. These are Web sites where content and page composition can be edited via a Web browser.

A powerful permission model is provided to restrict which community members are allowed to edit. WidgetWeb is built on a simple premise: components comprise a web page and components can be nested to create more complicated effects. This provides for easy browser-based editing.

Here are some key features of "WidgetWeb":
In-Place Editing - editing occurs through a web browser and in the context of the rest of the page.
Edit One Item At A Time - edits occur for a single widget which reduces complexity.
Nested Widgets - widgets can be nested to create different effects. Never worry again about remembering arcane macro names!
Customizability - site look and feel and all components rely heavily on CSS which can be controlled by the site administrator. Those requiring additional control can replace implementations and resources.
Permissions - control who can do what on your site.
HTML Optional - it's up to a component author to determine whether or not HTML is required.
Fast - Typical pages render in less than a second.
No Orphaned Pages - pages are either a child of the space or of another page. This means that pages are never orphaned.
The "People", "Login and Register", and other links that reveal it is a dynamic site can all be hidden. This is especially appealing for companies looking for a lightweight CMS (as opposed to a tool to support collaboration).
Built-in Server - can be ran without a web server (useful for personal wikis). May also be hosted in a servlet engine.
Spaces allow for grouping of common pages.

What's New in This Release:
This release introduces FCKEditor as the WYSIWYG editor, offering several enhancements including additional font control.
Other changes include full IE6 and IE7 support, as well as performance improvements due to improved browser caching and reduced script sizes.
