Brasero is yet another application to burn discs for the gnome desktop. Brasero project is designed to be as simple as possible and has some unique features to enable users to create their discs easily and quickly.

Here are some key features of "Brasero":
  • burn data and audio discs
  • copy data and audio discs
  • erase rewritable discs
  • allows full editing of data discs (remove/move/rename files inside a directory, ...) as well as audio discs
  • preview of songs and films
  • can use any file from the network (samba, ftp, ...) as long as the protocol is supported by gnome-vfs
  • full drag and drop (including from nautilus)
  • search through files thanks to beagle
  • file change notification thanks to inotify
  • convert any audio file format supported by gstreamer
  • use gdl for a customizable interface
  • search, parse and display of playlists
  • detects discs through Hal

    Requirements:
  • a fairly new kernel (>= 2.6.13 because of inotify)
  • gnome 2.12.x (gnome-vfs, nautilus-cd-burner, totem, gstreamer)
  • beagle (>= 0.12)
  • Hal (>= 0.50)
