Libgeotiff is a public domain library normally hosted on top of libtiff for writing, and reading GeoTIFF information tags.
GeoTIFF represents an effort by over 160 different remote sensing, GIS, cartographic, and surveying related companies and organizations to establish a TIFF based interchange format for georeferenced raster imagery.
It includes CSV files for expanding projected coordinate system codes into full projections definitions and examples of transforming the definitions into a form that can be used with the PROJ.4 projections library.
It also includes the sample applications listgeo (for dumping GeoTIFF information in readable form) and geotifcp (for applying geotiff tags to an existing TIFF or GeoTIFF file).
What's New in This Release:
THe library was updated to EPSG 6.9 tables.
CylindricalEqualArea projection support was added.
Some build related patches were fixed.
