Cinemix is a minidistribution of Linux designed for playing movies after booting directly from a CD. The only requirement is setting up BIOS to boot from CD. Cinemix's advantages are simplicity, small size and ease of CD recording.

Here are some key features of "Cinemix":
Project guidelines:

after booting from a CD computer starts playing movie automatically from CD
everything must fit in 2.88 MB (the largest size of emulated floppy disk)
system should be "invisible" on the CD
CDs should be easy to record
playlist and config files are not needed
system should support common hardware
support for common file formats and audio/video codecs
hard drive and floppy drive are not necessary

Cinemix can be used when:

you want to check another curiosity
you want to see what else can Linux be used to
you don't have or want to install appropriate codec
your hard drive has just broken down
you've just put together a new computer and want to check if it fits for anything...
