SAM Linux Desktop is a live and installation CD based on Mandriva Linux, is an easy-to-use, fast and clean XFce Linux desktop for home users.

SAM Linux Desktop is enhanced by several popular non-free applications, such Macromedia Flash plugin, Java and RealPlayer.

What's New in This Release:

Again based on PCLinuxOS software and XFce 4.3.90.2, SAM offers you a complete desktop environment for your older hardware.

With more than 1000 packages it?s nearly a hundred smaller than the previous version, but now the complete OpenOffice.org 2.0.3 is back on the LiveCD with full support for english and german languages.

As you can see on the screenshots , a complete re-design of the user interface will give you a more logically and eye pleasing experience, with desktop icons, widgets (Adesklets), a drop down terminal (Tilda) and a full screen pager (Skippy). Completed by one of the most popular nature wallpapers from Deviantart.com, thanks to the permission of the great artist "Tigaer", I am sure you will love it!

A new "welcome" dialog introduce you in the usage of the desktop and give you direct access of the internet connection wizard and installation tool.

The new installation tool, a enhanced version of Mandriva?s Draklive-Install, speeds up the installation time even on older systems.

I updated many packages, removed some unneeded and added some new, like "netgo", a wlan profile manager or "Gabber", a Jabber client. There are new wallpapers, a new bootsplash and GDM login theme.
