It is mainly an interface to be easily extended with own plugins. Some plugins are shipped for demonstration and stimulus.
To be true, I have to admit, that I would prefer to see my prefered editors to provide such functionality, instead of using two editors.

What's New in This Release:
Modifikation of configuration-command (right-click on pluginButton in toolbar) modifies button-image, -tooltiptext and text, where apropriate, allowing inversable commands like
indent/ unindent comment/ uncomment x2y/ y2x - conversion.
replaced 2 Plugins with one inversable one where possible.
Changed the implementation of some plugins from using Strings to use StringBuffer (eh! that was overdue!).
Created a first build.xml-file for ant.
