The Computer History Graphing Project is an attempt to graph every computer standard, every piece of hardware, every OS, and every computer language in one big family tree.

a text editor
Perl 5* and/or a C compiler
At least one of the output formats:
VCG
Dot
HTML
Postscript (through either dot or vcg)
PDF (through either dot or vcg and then ps2pdf)
CHML, our XML-based format.
