GNU Anubis is an SMTP message submission daemon. It represents an intermediate layer between mail user agent (MUA) and mail transport agent (MTA), receiving messages from the MUA, applying to them a set of predefined changes and finally inserting modified messages into an MTA routing network.

The set of changes applied to a message is configurable on a system-wide and per-user basis. The built-in configuration language used for defining sets of changes allows for considerable flexibility and is easily extensible.

Requirements:
Highly recommended:

GSASL -- an implementation of the SASL framework.
A database. It can be one from the following: plain text, GDBM, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
GnuTLS -- a Transport Layer Security Library or OpenSSL -- a cryptographic package.
GnuPG -- The GNU Privacy Guard with GPGME (GnuPG Made Easy).
Guile -- The GNU extension language.

Optional:

The TCP/IP Identification Protocol server (any) -- required only by the `transparent' Anubis authentication mode.
PCRE -- Perl-Compatible Regular Expression Library.
PAM -- Pluggable Authentication Modules.
libwrap (TCP wrappers) -- an access control library.
