Oddjob is a free open source Java job scheduler and job tool kit.

Oddjob's goal is to provide some order and visibility to that mass of batch files and cron jobs that currently tie an enterprises critical business processes together. Additionally Oddjob will often offer a more robust alternative to an existing process from it's toolkit.

Very flexible scheduling capabilities using TreeSched.
Easy XML configuration (well no harder than Ant).
Conditional branching and dependenices based on job completion states.
Dynamic job configuration with variable substitution.
A persistence mechanism allowing the state of the system to be recovered.
Lots of useful functionality ftp, mail etc. by supporting embedded Ant tasks.
Web based monitoring.
Remote monitoring via RMI and JMX.
An easily extendable plug and play framework.
