Eclipsedarcs is a project to develop integration for the distributed version control system Darcs in the Eclipse IDE.
Requirements:
a Java VM (also called JRE, Java Runtime Environment), version 1.4.1 or higher - e.g. from http://java.sun.com
Eclipse 3.1 - you can download Eclipse from http://eclipse.org
a Darcs installation - you get a source or binary version at http://darcs.net
the Darcs executable should be on the PATH on your system
Installation:
Start Eclipse and choose from the menu Help > Software Updates > Find and Install. Select 'Search for new features to install', hit 'Next'. Press 'Add update site', enter whatever you like as 'Name' and http://eclipsedarcs.sf.net/updates (or http://eclipsedarcs.org/updates which is daily mirror of sf.net site) as 'URL'. Press 'OK', check the checkbox and hit 'Next'. From here it should be self-explaining.
Note: if you access the internet though a proxy server (this is the case in many organisations) then you must tell Eclipse about the proxy: Window > Preferences > Install/Update.
Alternatively, you can download the entire update site for every release from the sourceforge file release site. Then Start Eclipse and choose from the menu Help > Software Updates > Find and Install. Select 'Search for new features to install', hit 'Next'. Press 'Add archived site' and browse to the downloaded file. Press 'OK', check the checkbox and hit 'Next'. From here it should be self-explaining.
What's New in This Release:
Sharing: support for specifying boring files (files that are excluded from revision control); support for pulling/pushing from/to other repositories.
Repository browsing: open files from the local repository read-only in a text editor; browse repositories on a remote location (via HTTP).
