OSSEC HIDS is an open source host-based intrusion detection system. OSSEC HIDS performs rootkit detection, log analysis, integrity checking, time-based alerting and active response.

What's New in This Release:
This new release was heavily focused on the Windows agent, which now comes with full support for Microsoft FTP, Windows firewall, IIS Web, and Microsoft Exchange logs.
In addition, multiple bugs were fixed, OSSEC was ported to run on HP-UX, and the rules for Modsecurity, sendmail, PIX, and named were improved.
