WeeChat also know as Wee Enhanced Environment for Chat is a fast and light IRC client for many operating systems.
Everything can be done with a keyboard, and it is customizable and extensible with scripts. Many GUIs are available (Curses, GTK, and Qt). It is compliant with RFCs 1459, 2810, 2811, 2812, and 2813.

What's New in This Release:
New features added in this version include server default notify, arguments for alias and special variables (like $nick), saving of the hotlist during an upgrade.
Many bugs were fixed, such as a crash with DCC resume, a random crash with /upgrade, a problem with nicklist display, a problem with CTCP version on channels, a problem with auto-rejoin for keyed channels, and many others.
