Code Browser is a folding and outlining editor for Linux and Windows.
The editor is between a traditional text editor, a smalltalk class browser and a web browser like mozilla. It displays a structured text file (marker-based folding) hierarchically using multiple panes.
Code Browser project is especially designed to keep a good overview of the code of large projects. Ideal if you are fed up of having to scroll through thousands of lines of code.
It supports syntax highlighting for C, C++, C#, VB.Net, Java, Python, Ruby, Pascal, TeX, Makefile, XML, HTML and CSS. Custom syntax highlighting can also be added.
Here are some key features of "Code Browser":
Folders to organize your source code
Links to help navigation between files
Special comment lines to give the source code a literate programming look
Multiple files
Multiple windows per file
Several panes per window
Smalltalk style browser
Syntax highlighting for C, C++, C#, VB.Net, java, assembler, python, ruby, HTML, CSS, XML, TeX, pascal, batches, sh, makefiles and NSIS
User definable syntax highlighting
Unlimited undo/redo
Word wrapping
User defined tools
User defined shortcuts
Search and replace: search in folder, search in file
Goto line: in folder or in file
Block indent/unindent
Drop file to open
It isn't one more clone of visual C++
