nightIMPgale is an amaroK script that lets amaroK shutdown your PC after the playlist has finished.
A countdown after the end of the playlist is of configurable length and can of course be interrupted.
The script can execute a custom command before shutdown. This is meant to turn down the volume of the mixer to make sure no sound theme will wake you up again if you've gone to sleep with amaroK playing.
-- It will not (like nightingale did) shutdown when you click stop.
-- It will display a countdown (length is configurable) before shutdown --- this way you won't be surprised if you stayed up a little longer sitting in front of your PC. Of course you can interrupt it.
-- It will execute a custom command before shutdown. This command is intended to turn down the volume. The reason is that some desktops have a sound theme installed. If you (like I do) don't turn amaroK's volume too much, the sound theme will be very loud and eventually wake you up again. The standard command is a call to the DCOP interface of kmix. But because then kmix must be running I prefer 'aumix -v 0'. Just leave the configuration field empty, if you do not need this option.
This script was only tested with amaroK 3.8.1 any python 2.4. It requires PyQT.
This script was written by a german, so please excuse any spelling or grammatical faults.
What's New in This Release:
A bug in the bugfix for version 0.2.1 caused nightIMPgale to shut down the PC not at all if automatic script termination was enabled. This is now fixed. Sorry for that!
